I was so impressed by Dr. Yuen's Presentation that I just couldn't wait to play with Animoto. For those of you that aren't familiar with it like I was, it is a really cool way to upload your photos into a photo-story set with a professional production feel. You can add music to it and send it to the mystery people that live with in the internet and let them create a design for you. You can pick themed designs if you want to send some one a birthday greeting or Christmas card.
I could see using this program in advertising or as a special service to people who have a photo studio or even a special event coordinator. It could be fun to use this in planning a reception of a wedding, a graduation party, or any other type function. I have a few events I am helping plan for a couple of friends of mine. I could use this for e-invitations to a wedding collage showing the blending of their two families. It would also be a good tool to use for anniversaries and birthdays of grandparents.
These were taken down in Gulfport, MS at the pier at the corner of HWY 90 and Courthouse Road.
Hope you enjoy!

Fun with Picnik!
Our second assignment was to make an online photo album using Picnik. I have had a lot of phone with this. It is super easy to use, which is great for me. Overly complicated programs are just a waste of time and sometimes money. My less advance tech savvy family members have started to enjoy using it after I told them about it. I have used it to fix different pictures, but I did use it to create the heading graphic for my blog. I was able to use it to convert a PowerPoint slide into a picture format the computer could read. I like the ability also that it gives to you to edit your pictures up loaded from different locations like Flikr too. That way I can edit what I want and I don't need to constantly upload my pictures to multiple locations.
I could see an advantage to this not particularity in specific field but more in the field of advertising. It would be good to use it to tweak photos and add captions. I could also see it being good to use as a photographer to showcase your pictures and to add affects to pictures for your clients.

PhotoStory
Before this class I had heard of PhotoStory, but wasn't a 100% sure what it was. I found out it is basically a modern slide show. I enjoyed making it. I plan on using it to share experiences with family via photos. Since coming to USM, I have had a lot of firsts. Accordingly, I decided to do mine on the school, in particular the our first football game. It was fun to add my own recordings, captions, and music to my photos. Most of my classmates seemed to like it. They said they felt like they were ready for football again even though the season had just ended.

A little about me.....
My pen name is Iris. Why? Well, there is actually two reasons: 1. I actually like my privacy. 2. It happens to be my favorite flower. You'll probably won't ever see a picture on me on this site.
To me pictures aren't always about the specific person in it put the moment of time it is capturing. Think of the famous picture of the sailor kissing the nurse at the end of WWII. Do you even know who those two people were? Probably not. Does it matter who they were? No it doesn't because it is capturing a moment.
I will tell you that I am a student who was instructed to create this blog for my multimedia class at the University of Southern Mississippi. In this blog we are to post information about our assignments and the like.
A little more about me...I like photography and actually prefer black and white images. I like the mystique about them. I enjoy cooking, reading, watching movies, hanging out with friends, and lively conversations among other things. I also have a tendency to not read all the directions. So this was actually supposed to be my first post, but oops, not much I can do know. You may be interested to know that I am going to school to be a Business Technology Education Teacher looking into a minor in Sociology and Non-Profit Studies.
